Your trip begins in one of the best predator viewing regions in Botswana, Savuti. Upon arrival in Maun you will be met by Delta Air who will assist you to the light aircraft for onwards air transfer to Camp Savuti. The camp is a twenty-minute game drive from the airstrip through Chobe National Park. The Savuti Marsh, which is fed by the Savuti Channel has over the years developed a reputation as one of the world’s premier predator viewing areas and boasting one of the highest concentration of wildlife on the African continent. There have been a number of documentary films shot in Savuti that has helped cement this reputation. Camp Savuti is an intimate camp that can accommodate a maximum of 10 guests in comfort and style in 5 Meru tents. The tents sit on platforms and are positioned to ensure privacy and a modest level of exclusivity throughout the camp. The tents are large and spacious, each with an en-suite bathroom and deck with views over the Savuti Channel.
Camp Savuti offers morning and afternoon game drives through the park and along the fringes of the channel and marsh. The open safari vehicles are ideal for game watching and photography and your guide will delight in showing you the beauty and diversity of Savuti’s natural wonders. While in camp you can enjoy comfortable guest areas that include an intimate lounge, bar and dining area all of which have views of the Savuti Chanel.
After breakfast at Camp Savuti, you will depart by light aircraft to Delta Camp. The camp offers a traditional Okavango safari experience with luxury accommodation and your own private guide. Inspiration for the rooms is drawn from the natural surroundings, which each have their own unique design. Delta Camp can accommodate a maximum of 16 guests in spacious lethaka (reed) chalets. Each chalet is built of natural materials and is raised off the forest floor. They are all equipped with an en-suite bathroom with hot and cold running water and solar powered electric lighting.
When staying at Delta Camp you will enjoy the luxury of your own private guide. All the Camps guides are local men of the swamp – born and raised in the area. You will spend your days gliding through the water channels in his traditional makoro (dugout canoe) and with his guidance walking on some of the many islands in the area, enjoying the magnificent scenery as well as the abundance of wildlife and birds that inhabit the Okavango. As well as fantastic surroundings, the camp also has an enviable reputation for cuisine, and imported cheeses, fresh vegetables, excellent meat and fine wines are flown in daily and lovingly prepared.
After breakfast you will depart via light aircraft for Deception Valley Lodge. Set on 15, 000 hectares of private land, bordering the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. Deception Valley Lodge is the premier Kalahari destination in Botswana. The lodge has its own airstrip just fifteen minutes from the lodge and is a mere thirty-minute flight from Maun. This lodge is professionally run by the owners and offers all the facilities that lead to a comfortable and relaxing stay. There are eight very spacious rooms which each have a bedroom, separate lounge area, en-suite bathroom with a Victorian bath and outdoor shower. The lodge has several indoor and outdoor areas for its guests to relax in as well as a swimming pool and wireless internet delivered by satellite.
